Itasca State Park

On Friday morning I got home at 6:45am. Tibby and I were on the road with all the camping gear by 7:45 am. The girls went to their last day of school and we headed to the state park to get a camping spot. My first pick was a spot as close to the bathrooms/showers (a.k.a. running water) as possible. Tibby's first pick was in the more wooded area without the running water. I won. Tibby did admit that it was a nice spot. He just needs to understand that I like to be close to the showers so I don't have to flip-flop across the whole campground, and I don't mean my shoes.

After the girls were done with their school day, Grandpa, Grandma, and Daniel brought them up to the park. We ate supper and visited for a while. Soon after Gpa, Gma and Dan left, we went to bed. I was very tired after not really getting much sleep the previous 36 hours.

After a really good nights sleep, the 4 of us went to the Head Waters and drove around the park. In the afternoon, Mike, Jenna, Daniel, Gpa and Gma arrived. Yes, Gpa and Gma AGAIN. We had asked them to camp with us but they did not want to on a busy weekend. After supper, Ranger Dan had to go to work and Gpa and Gma headed home. The girls and Jenna spent most of the day riding bike around the park. The only complain after biking at least 20 miles was sore butts. Jenna slept in the tent with us and Mike spent the night in his pickup with a HUGH gross looking beetle.

Tibby, Mike and I sat by the fire until about midnight so we could see Ranger Dan in action. He looks so cute in his uniform with his badge and cute little pen!

Sunday morning we woke up to rain. We packed up and headed home. We needed to be home by noon because Meggz had to play in the band for graduation.

WE HAD A GREAT WEEKEND AND CAN'T WAIT TIL WE CAN DO IT AGAIN.

still nothing...........

Still nothing much new and exciting in our family.

Tibby had another job offer the other day. The owner of the Whoopee asked him if he was interested in cooking part-time there. He already makes more an hour at the Double Eagle and the Whoopee will pay him almost as much as I make--that sucks for me!

Meggz had her sport banquet last night. Once again my butt go tired, we had to sit there for 3.5 hours. She did letter in softball so she was happy about that.

Emers did not have to get physical with THAT girl at school, but she did tell her she was a bitch. Yes, Emers finally told her off and now the girl seems kinda scared of Emers.

Me. I have already did 3 of my 6 nights of training for TMA at work. Lot easier work on my back. I did get the results back on my MRI--bone spurs in my neck! And here I always thought that you were the pain in my neck, hehehehe. I don't go back to the doctor until the middle of June, so I don't know what the next plan is.

I hope you lead a more exciting life than I do.........

Nothing

I have nothing to blog about but since I have people bugging me to blog, here it is.
Nothing exciting has been happening lately. Work and sleep seems to be what I do. I am done with school and will start training at work as a TMA on Sunday night.

Tibby really enjoys his part-time job cooking at the Double Eagle. It is hard for the girls and I to eat supper at home when we know his is cooking there.

Meggz is getting kinda upset with all the rain lately. She says that softball season is boring this year cuz it is always cancelled.

Emers is getting kinda upset with a girl at school. Yesterday she asked if it was OK if she told this girl off. When I told her she should, she said, "What if it gets physical?" Oh Boy! That would be fun to see!

So......there you go. I updated my blog. Hopefully I will come up with something exciting soon to talk to you about.

Nothing to do?

This is our neighbor. The one that has irritated us for years. When Emers was in first or second grade she named him 'Ron the Frog'. When Tibby gets really mad he calls him 'the Frog Fart'. What does he do all day---------nothing. This is the place that you will usually find him at, sunning himself in his driveway.

He does go for bike rides out past Gma and Gpa's farm, around to Eagle Bend and back. He also walks to pick up cans. I guess he hasn't figured out yet that most trash along the roads are now PLASTIC!

He does venture across the road to our house. When he does I don't know, but I think he sometimes burns his junk in our outdoor burner. I guess I could come up with better names than Frog Fart!

Sorry this isn't a very good picture but it is as close as Emers wanted to get!

My girls

Seems like I looked away for just a second and my girls grew up!!! Meggz looked so beautiful in her prom dress, alot different than in her softball uniform. Now if she would just introduce me to her new boyfriend I would be really happy.

And Emers--you amaze me!!! You are starting to show the rest of the world the girl that I already knew. You go girl!!!!

Love you both forever and ever!!!!

Gray Hair

Just so you know, the next time you see me I will probably have more gray hair. Meggz is now a licensed driver!! She finally took her test again today and PASSED. After we went to the court house to pay the $15 for her license, we headed back to Bville. She asked if we could get copies of the car keys. I said no, I still want a little bit of the control! She told me that she would drop me off at the shop and pick me up later. Really?!?!? So..........she dropped me off and went to she Gma and Gpa. I begged her not to go. I said that I want to keep it like it was--me always in the car with her. She said NO!!! Then she told me that before she leaves town she is stopping at the gas station. I thought, WOW, she is going to put gas in already? NO, she was going to get a pop, with one of my 'free' coupons! I told her NO!! I said I didn't want her making an extra stop and pulling out on the road an extra time. I didn't think that she would listen to me, but she did and skipped the pop-stop. Wow--how long do you think it will take before she doesn't even tell me these things? I think I will put a tracker on the car!!!!!

Meggz

Meggz turned 17 yesterday! That means the 17 years ago I woke up early in the morning and did not know if my water broke or if I had peed the bed. When I told this to Tibby he told me to 'get the hell out of bed!' My contractions did not start until on the way to the hospital. We spend the day waiting for Meggz to show up. We went through 2 shifts of doctors and 12 hours after my water broke she showed up! I should have known then that she would be poky. During the most busy time of the labor the phone rang in the room. It was my oldest sister wondering what was going on. I think we probably called her back later. Tibby spent the night at the hospital with us and we ordered pizza for a late supper and had it delivered to the room. What a day!!!

So yesterday Meggz got to pick what she wanted for supper--pizza. After supper, we went home and she opened her presents for Emers, Tibby and I. Then we had a very plain birthday cake that we had gotten at Walmart. Her 'real' party with be when Gpa and Gma get home from Texas. This Sunday afternoon we are going to Alex bowling and for supper with some of her friends.

LOVE YOU MEGGZ!!!! Like I have said, you were worth the pain! But remember--I AM the boss because I have the scars to prove it.

So I can sleep all day

Remember that I work nights, right. But not every night--4 to 5 nights a week. But, even if I didn't work and I slept most of the night, I still like to sleep late in the mornings. And what does my wonderful Tibby do while I am sleeping. He cuts fire wood, takes out the trash, cleans the kitchen, loads or unloads the dishwasher, does all of the bookwork-business and personal, takes the girls to school, calls me when it is time for me to get up and always kisses me goodbye before he leaves for work even if I don't remember it!! I LOVE YOU TIBBY!

I'm going back to school.....

Got your attention didn't I. It really isn't as impressive as it sounds--it's only one 3-credit course.

My employeer has asked me to become a TMA (trained medicine aide). I have accpeted, but that means back to school for me. I don't start until the end of March, they pay for it and the hours I work as a TMA I get more $$$$. That will will be the best part.

Oh, and for anyone that cares--on Friday I go to the doctor for more test. I can't wait! :(

Doctor visit

Friday's doctor visit did not go as I hoped it would. They did not find a bleeding ulcer. So where did the blood come from? It was black so that means that it was in my stomach at one point for my body to digest it. The doctor is concerned because on Sunday morning my hemoglobin was at about 14. On Friday it was at 8.5, at 8 you need a blood transfusion. Where is the blood coming from--we do not know. I go back on Monday for another blood test.

Pointed boobs

Emers sometimes has a weird sense of humor and also likes to pick on Meggz. On Monday, Emers was outside helping Tibby shovel snow. While she was out there she happen to notice that the lawn furniture on the deck was covered with snow. She also noticed that the nice clean, smooth snow would make a nice place to write a message. Her message---'Meggz has pointed boobs'

No harm done. Only family usually comes over during the week and Gma and Gpa are gone. Wrong!!!! Since on Monday's our shop is closed and school was canceled, Tibby got a phone call from a BVille parent that she needed some stuff done ASAP. He said sure, drop it off!

This was after supper that she would come. So, Tibby turned on the front lights. Kinda spot lights all along the front porch. I am sure it made Emers message glow! The lady came and left with not a word about Meggz boobs. Later, Emers remembered what she had done and reminded Meggz about it. Meggz went out and "erased" it. But, we still wonder if she saw it-------I am sure she did!!!!! Oh yeah, Meggz thought that Emers should be grounded for doing this--but since I had already laugh too much about it, I didn't think grounding her would be right so Meggz took care of her. She put snow in Emers hair--now she feels that they are even.

Chocolate Chips

I had to go to Mom and Dad's today to look for some papers they need in Texas. The drive way was not plowed so to not risk getting stuck, I parked at the end and walked to the house. This was not a pleasant walk because if you read my previous post you would already know that I am weak and tired. Plus, I had on my old shoes that are very old and no longer safe to walk in.

When I got up to the house I noticed that the deck had not been shoveled off. Since the shovel was there I decided to be nice and shovel the deck and in front of the garage. Yes, you are probably thinking why? Aren't they in Texas? Yes, but they do not like it to look like they are gone. And with all the snow we are having--it would take too long to melt off the deck.

So, as I am shoveling I fell. Ya know how when kids sit on their butt with their knees bent, and their feet behind them, that is how I landed. It hurt. It still hurts. And I can't take any Tylenol because of my tests on Friday. It is really going to hurt in the morning.

After I slooooowly got up and finished shoveling, I went into the house. I did not find what I needed. By this time I was feeling weaker and alittle sorry for myself. I opened the refrigerator--mostly empty. I opened the freezer--full, but all frozen, feeling more sorry for myself I remembered the CHOCOLATE CHIPS.

Mom is always good for having chocolate chips in the house---don't let me down now!!! I opened the cupboard door to find the spot empty where the Tupperware container ALWAYS sits. CRAP!!!! As I start to shut the door, I see it. An almost empty bag of chocolate chips. Laying there-long forgotten. Yes! You pulled through for me Mom! Everyone knows that she can't quite put in the whole bag!! I am now happy once again. Thinking maybe things will be alright. I start to open the bag. What the Hell!!! They are white. Not the kind that are suppose to be white, but old chocolate white. Now, that is not like Mom at all--wasting chocolate--letting it get white. What a minute. I am not going to eat them but I better not throw them away either. I am sure she remembers that they are there and already has plans to put them in her next batch of cookies when she gets home. LOVE YA MOM!!!!

ulcer???

On Saturday night while I was getting ready for work, I started passing blood. I really do not like to discuss my BM's but it was ALOT of blood. But, because I like my job, I still went to work. Good thing I did because we were short 2 people. I did not feel good the whole time I was there. At approx. 3 A.M. I went into a residents room to answer his call light. The next thing I remember real well is getting in the blazer with Tibby at about 3:30 A.M. The charge nurse at the care center tried to get my blood pressure but said she had a hard time finding it. My pulse was up to 150----way too high. I did not want to leave work until the work was done but they made me--I do not remember that at all. Tibby took me to the ER. It was determined that I probably have a bleeding ulcer. Now on Friday I get to go to the hospital and swallow the scope!!!!! The bleeding has slowed down but I still feel weak and tired. I'll let you know how Friday goes.

How long will it take?

On Saturday, January 30, Meggz got into trouble and got grounded off the computer and phone until she gets her room clean. And it has to be clean enough for me to approve of it. As of today, this is how it looks.........how long will it take?

Cold????

Just talked to Mom and she says it is cool today in Texas--she also said nobody is really sitting outside today and if you do go out you should maybe wear a jacket. I say POOR BABY!!!! It is 8 degrees here! I told her I was outside today for awhile, wearing a jacket, putting wood in the woodstove!!
Dad is feeling good after yesterday's chemo. Only heartburn last night.

Chemo

As you all must already know my parents are done in Texas. Even though I talk to them almost daily, I still miss them---alot. It sadden my to find out that Dad was starting to lose his hair due to his chemo treatments. I hated the idea that someone else was going to shave his head and not me since I am the one that usually cuts his hair.
Thursday morning he goes in for his second chemo treatment--the first one down in Texas. I hope that everything goes well for him down there and doesn't have any worse ill effects than he had here. Please keep him and Mom in your thoughts and prayers.

The lost wallet

After school today, Meggz and a friend of hers walked to our shop. On the way there they found a wallet in the snow. They brought it in and gave it to Tibby. Tibby opened it to find a name. The name wasn't in the phone book but Meggz' friend reconized it as her bus driver. Tibby called the mayor (also the owner of the school buses) and told him to radio the driver about his lost wallet. A while later the man came in for his wallet. He said thank you but really did not seem overly happy about the safe return of the wallet and all of the contents. Tibby said that there was well over $100.00 in there. Now, had that been me, I would have VERY excited!! I was very happy about the fact that the girls were so honest with that much money. GOOD JOB MEGGZ!!!!!!!!

Picher, Oklahoma

Mom just called, they are going to stay the night in Baxter Springs, Kansas. They want to see Picher, Oklahoma in the daylight.

Tibby and I drove through Picher when we took our latest quick road trip. We did not know the history of this town and just happened to pass through it. Windows and doors were either missing or boarded up in most houses and buildings. Everything seemed deserted like a modern ghost town. When we got home we googled the town to learn about it. The town had been shut down by the government--it was too toxic. Google it when you get time, it is really interesting. After we read about the recent events in the town we wish we had looked around a bit more.

I am excited to talk to Mom and Dad tomorrow and find out what they learned.

They are on their way.

Mom and Dad left for Texas today!!! I am happy that they were finally able to go but----I HATE when they are gone. I miss them already! I wonder when they are coming home.

This morning the 4 of us got up at 7am to meet Mom and Dad at the local cafe for breakfast before they left. The owner of the cafe (sister #1) was nice enough to open at 7:30 so they could get going alittle earlier, she usually opens at 8.
James, Jayne, Mike, Dan, Jenna, Roger, Josh, Mom, Dad, Emers, Meggz, Tibby and myself all enjoyed breakfast and visiting some before Mom, Dad, Dan and Jayne took off at about 9am for their trip south. Dad called this afternoon with a question for me. That was his excuse anyway--I think it was because he already missed me too.

How did I spend my day? Took a nap, helped cut firewood and baked cookies.

I have a problem........

Hi, my name is Tammy and I have a problem. I am addicted to Law & Order. I hate going even a day without watching a least one episode. Three of our cable channels play reruns and still sometimes when I want to watch it isn't on!! I do have a few of the seasons on DVD but it is just not the same. I can usually tell in the first few seconds if I have already seen that episode or not. And even if I have seen it before, I watch it again. I just love the DUN-DUN sound they use.

My co-worker laugh at me when I talk about Bobby, Olivia, Elliot and everyone else like they are real. Aren't they? I mean I do visit with them sometimes many times a day. And the crimes--they are real too!!!

I am upset though, when I get home from work at 6:30 in the morning IT is on!! Why?? They know that I am tired and need to get to bed! I only have a limited amount of time to sleep but I guess crime can not always wait!

I do not need or want help--only understanding--about my addition. If you would get to know the Captain, the District Attorney and his assistant and all of the rest, you would understand too!

Updates.........finally.

Longer ago Tibby told me that if you want to yell at someone on the computer you use all capital letters. What does it mean if you use larger type and italic letters? Is it just a prettier way of yelling at someone? My niece yelled at me, I think, in her blog--you can go to her blog by clicking on her picture under 'my follower'. She's lucky that I love her so much or I would have to respond in CAPITAL italic letters!!!

Yes, it has been a while since my last update and my only real excuse is---laziness. This is my slow-down time of the year. When it is cold and dark most of the time, I don't have much ambition.

We did have a New Year's Eve gathering like most years. Since Tibby's birthday is New Years Day it is kinda a party for him too. Usually lots of food and after midnight we have birthday cake. Mom, Dad, sister #1 and husband, one of my nieces, husband and baby, one of my nephews, brother #1 and wife. We had a lot of fun and food--subway party sub and tacos. It seems like everyone seemed to catch on to what words make me start gagging. Yes, they like to talk about things that make me gag enough sometimes I think I will throw up. Sounds like fun, does it!?!?!?

My sister-in-law was nice enough to bring me a hostess gift--a cookbook from her church. I was looking through it during our card game and noticed a recipe for 'Puke' How appropriate don't ya think?! And I really wonder if that is what you tell people that they are eating for supper.
