They are on their way.

Mom and Dad left for Texas today!!! I am happy that they were finally able to go but----I HATE when they are gone. I miss them already! I wonder when they are coming home.

This morning the 4 of us got up at 7am to meet Mom and Dad at the local cafe for breakfast before they left. The owner of the cafe (sister #1) was nice enough to open at 7:30 so they could get going alittle earlier, she usually opens at 8.
James, Jayne, Mike, Dan, Jenna, Roger, Josh, Mom, Dad, Emers, Meggz, Tibby and myself all enjoyed breakfast and visiting some before Mom, Dad, Dan and Jayne took off at about 9am for their trip south. Dad called this afternoon with a question for me. That was his excuse anyway--I think it was because he already missed me too.

How did I spend my day? Took a nap, helped cut firewood and baked cookies.

I have a problem........

Hi, my name is Tammy and I have a problem. I am addicted to Law & Order. I hate going even a day without watching a least one episode. Three of our cable channels play reruns and still sometimes when I want to watch it isn't on!! I do have a few of the seasons on DVD but it is just not the same. I can usually tell in the first few seconds if I have already seen that episode or not. And even if I have seen it before, I watch it again. I just love the DUN-DUN sound they use.

My co-worker laugh at me when I talk about Bobby, Olivia, Elliot and everyone else like they are real. Aren't they? I mean I do visit with them sometimes many times a day. And the crimes--they are real too!!!

I am upset though, when I get home from work at 6:30 in the morning IT is on!! Why?? They know that I am tired and need to get to bed! I only have a limited amount of time to sleep but I guess crime can not always wait!

I do not need or want help--only understanding--about my addition. If you would get to know the Captain, the District Attorney and his assistant and all of the rest, you would understand too!

Updates.........finally.

Longer ago Tibby told me that if you want to yell at someone on the computer you use all capital letters. What does it mean if you use larger type and italic letters? Is it just a prettier way of yelling at someone? My niece yelled at me, I think, in her blog--you can go to her blog by clicking on her picture under 'my follower'. She's lucky that I love her so much or I would have to respond in CAPITAL italic letters!!!

Yes, it has been a while since my last update and my only real excuse is---laziness. This is my slow-down time of the year. When it is cold and dark most of the time, I don't have much ambition.

We did have a New Year's Eve gathering like most years. Since Tibby's birthday is New Years Day it is kinda a party for him too. Usually lots of food and after midnight we have birthday cake. Mom, Dad, sister #1 and husband, one of my nieces, husband and baby, one of my nephews, brother #1 and wife. We had a lot of fun and food--subway party sub and tacos. It seems like everyone seemed to catch on to what words make me start gagging. Yes, they like to talk about things that make me gag enough sometimes I think I will throw up. Sounds like fun, does it!?!?!?

My sister-in-law was nice enough to bring me a hostess gift--a cookbook from her church. I was looking through it during our card game and noticed a recipe for 'Puke' How appropriate don't ya think?! And I really wonder if that is what you tell people that they are eating for supper.

Want or Need???

A few weeks before my birthday, Tibby asked me what I wanted for my birthday and for Christmas--Key word was wanted. I said my usual stuff like-for you to love me forever, the girls to never fight...etc. After him asking a few more times, I finally gave him a few ideas. More perfume. He said that would not work out because he would not be going to St. Cloud. New comforter set for our bed. He said, how many do you need! Yes, I have a few and I do not NEED another one but I WANT another one. I usually never buy or ask for things that I can get by with out but I really did want a new comforter. And I got one!!! And I love it!!! Good choice Tibby, you once again spoiled me!!

The monkey blanket under my snowball was Meggz gift to Tibby.

I wish......

Sometimes I wish that I could take my girls back in time with me for a day. I would want them to...
...enjoy a piece of my gma W's chocolate cake with the thick, fudge-like
frosting
...watch my gma N playing my play set of drums.
...see how styling my dad looked in his baby blue leisure suit.
...see how fashionalbe my mom looked in her wig and daingle earrings, all ready to go dancing.
...smell the 'homemade bread smell' on my mom when she got home from work as a school cook.
...watch my dad act like bacon frying in the pan. (he wouldn't do that anymore)
...go Christmas caroling with the cattle truck and my dad driving it dressed like Santa.

Winter Wonderland

Last Wednesday night was Meggz Christmas concert--Winter Wonderland. What a show! Each year Mrs. S does an awesome job at showing the talents of all the Bville students. The concerts usually last 2 or more hours, but worth it! It is not only the band but also the choir. Jazz band, pop singers, men's ensemble and the triple trio also perform.

What makes it the BEST show around? As the choir sings the final song of the night, Silent Night, the lights dim, and the stage curtains open to show the nativity!! This is all happening as a narrator reads the Christmas story from the Bible. I wonder how many public schools allow this as part of their 'Winter' celebrations? The nativity is live--minus the animals. Elementary students play the parts. Emers had been one of the angels when she was in first grade and Mary when she was in sixth.

I love this part of the concert--what a great way to start our Christmas celebration.

My little drummer boy

I saw him for the first time in 1984. I was in high school band. It was during class and I was probably causing a disruption (whole other story). He was sitting, with his chair tipped against the wall, under the clock, arms crossed, holding his drum sticks. Eyes so dark that they looked black. Short, dark, thick hair. Wow, I found my tall, dark, handsome prince. I did not know his name, what grade he was in and I did not remember ever seeing him before. Well, it did not take me long to find out his name and that he was a year younger than me. But it did take a while to get him to ask me out (about a year).

Since he was in the percussion section of the band, I quickly decided his pet name would be 'my little drummer boy'. He will try telling you that during the year of me bugging him, that I kicked him and his friends out of their seats on a band trip--I did not. He will say that I pinched his butt--I did not.

Our first date was on my senior band trip. We were at a museum in Chicago. He paid for my ticket to go on a mine ride, I think it was $1. We dated for a year and then broke up for two--he will tell you that I would not talk to him--again not true. I was showing him who was in charge.

Our first-second date was to the movie 'Money Pit'. He will tell you that I would not kiss him goodbye--that is true. I knew then, what I know now, and what I knew when I saw him sitting under the clock--LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT--he just didn't know it in band!

We have been trough alot together---that would be a very long blog to tell about it all--and I still know I would never survive without him. OK, I am sure I would, but I don't want to. And yes even though I think he is near perfect there are things that bug me. After all these years he still can't shut dresser drawers all the way. And sometimes, while he is watching TV, he rubs his toes together and the noise seems to get louder and louder.

At Christmas time when we decorate, some of my little drummer boys are included in the decorations too. This is one special one that always goes out.

Tibby painted this in 1976. He was about 7 years old. See, even back then he knew he would be 'my little drummer boy' (sorry that it is side ways)
